The Bissell Pet Foundation, the philanthropic division of Bissell based out of Grand Rapids, just announced that they will again be sponsoring an Empty the Shelters Day on April 29th.  They are going to be sponsoring the adoption of shelter animals in 65 different shelters across Michigan, and hope to see more than 2,000 pets adopted this year.

Adoption fees at shelters vary, however the general average is $60 for cats and $150 for dogs.  Anyone adopting an animal through the event will still be responsible for the licensing fee, which is $7 to $12.

Along with making a great addition to the family, adopters will also be given an AdoptBox while supplies last at each location.  They come full of great stuff, including care information for their new family member, treats, toys, and all sorts of other goodies.  There will also be some Bissell cleaning products, a collar and an ID tag.

This is the third time that Bissell has held the event and done so much to help out shelter animals all across the state.  The event that took place on October 22nd, 2016 saw a record-smashing one-day total of over 1,900 pets adopted.  Hopefully, this year will be even better and even more animals will find the forever homes they deserve.
