Happy Tuesday, Life With Dogs readers!  We hope the day finds you well, and we have a great, LWD Adoptable Dog of the Day for you today.  His name is Chief, and he comes to us from the good people at the Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue out of Stephens City, Virginia.

Chief is a bit of a special needs case.  The rescue team worked really hard for a very long time to bring him in all the way from Florida.  He is going to need a bit of extra care from anyone looking to adopt him, but regardless, Chief is a very special boy who deserves a chance to know love, comfort and safety.  Could your home be the one for him?

Let’s let the Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue introduce Chief:

After a month and a half of waiting after being caught as a stray, Chief is finally out of Miami-Dade Animal Shelter and safe with our rescue.  Chief is a 7 year old heartworm positive dog and has some superficial issues that to be taken care of.

However, he is a sweet boy with a great disposition who will be needing a foster and then a permanent home when he gets here to VA.  Poor boy’s nails are so long he can hardly walk, elbows have some pretty severe calluses and there is evidence of arthritis.  The last few inches of his tail are also completely bald, but a little TLC and some supplements and this gorgeous boy will be shiny and new again!
