Hello, Life With Dogs readers.  We have a very special LWD Adoptable Dog of the Day for you today, and he is called Moose, and he comes to us from the Humane Rescue Alliance out of the Washington DC area.  Not only is it his name, but he matches it in size as well.  However, as playful and rambunctious he is, he’s also a big cuddle bug, too.

Let’s let the Humane Rescue Alliance introduce Moose:

Hey there!  I’m Moose!  I’m a sweet 6.5-year-old pup that came to the shelter when my family could no longer care for me.  At 75 lbs, I’m somewhat of a large fellow, so I am hoping to find a home that is equipped and prepared for a gentle giant like myself.

I was a bit nervous at the shelter, so it will take me a minute to get completely comfortable.  Once I do, I will follow you wherever you go!  I do well with other dogs, including the resident dog here at my foster home.  The resident cat here isn’t so bad either and sometimes I don’t even notice when she is around! I’m a low-maintenance fellow who doesn’t need constant petting to keep me happy.

Would you like it if someone was touching you all day?  Well me neither!  Don’t get me wrong, I love spending time with my people and I would prefer being around you than alone, but sometimes I like my own space to just relax and sleep nearby, if that’s ok.  When I am in the mood to play, tug of war is my favorite!  Don’t even get me started on bones… can you say “yum”?

My foster mom and the trainers here are working with me on perfecting all of my manners.  By the time I’m ready to go I will even be crate trained!  I don’t know what that means, but they say I’m doing really well with it!  If you think you may be interested in adopting me, email my foster mom, Marita, to set up a meet n’ greet!
