As we all know, humans are not the only casualties in times of natural disaster. Innumerable pets have been displaced in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. Some from their homes, but others from Texas shelters that were overcome by the force of the storm.

New Jersey has accepted a multitude of four-legged refugees from Harvey’s path and rescuers there are hoping to find these animals new forever homes in the tri-state area. Shelter workers expect at least 60 more to come in this week after receiving more than a dozen on Monday, NBC news reported.

The animals came from a Houston shelter that was overcome by flood waters. They are being cared for (and adopted through) PetResQ in Tenafly, NJ.

Another 100 dogs and cats are slated to arrive at St. St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center in Madison, N.J.
