Congratulations, Slingshot!!!

Michiganers can claim another of their own as a world record-holder! Super athlete Slingshot soared through the air this weekend to set a new high-bar in the sport of dock diving.

It was during the North American Diving Dogs Qualifier in Ohio that the 3-and-a-half-year-old whippet, owned by Rachel Brinkman, flew past competitors to shatter the previous record.

Slingshot, who hails from the town of Fenton, sailed a total of 35 feet, 3 inches.

Check out this AMAZING drone footage of Slingshot’s jump:

Owner Brinkman said she was amazed Slingshot seemed to get better with every jump.

“He’s finally fully matured and filled out, he’s really in the best shape of his life. A big part of it is that and the other part is that we train and condition him regularly for this so he just keeps getting better,” she told TV5.

Good news for dogs looking to win big at the World Finals in Florida in December: Slingshot will not be competing.
