In Lexington, Ky., police officers on bike patrol found a dog running loose in the middle of the city and after rescuing the pet, the officers transported the dog to the Humane Society. A few hours later, the dog was reunited with his family.

When the officers arrived and the Humane Society, workers recognized the pet right away. The pet’s owners had been posting flyers all over the city for the past ten days since their dog went missing.

The fliers and the police rescue weren’t the only things that helped the dog get back to his family, the canine had been microchipped and the chip helped identify and contact the dog’s owner.

As soon as the owners were contacted, they set out to visit the Humane Society and retrieve their four-legged best friend. This was one happy reunion for the dog and his family.
