For one little boy and one puppy nap time is a special time. Every day when Jessica Shyba puts her son Beau down for his afternoon nap their new puppy Theo joins the toddler for some quality napping and cuddling. Their adorable routine has been captured in photos that are going viral on the internet.
Earlier this month the Shyba family adopted a 7-week-old mixed breed puppy named Theo from the Santa Cruz SPCA. On the third day they had Theo, Jessica Shyba was rocking her toddler son Beau to sleep for his afternoon nap when he joined in for some cuddling and ended up falling asleep, too.
“I was practically howling at the cuteness and nearly woke them both up,” said Shyba.
The next day when Shyba went to put Beau down for his nap, Theo was waiting outside the bedroom. Every day since Theo is there at nap time waiting to join.
“Each day, Theo meets us at nap time and waits patiently for Beau to fall asleep. By that time, he’s also sleepy, so when I hoist him onto our bed, he stumbles over Beau and plops right down on top of him. And there they sleep, entwined, for at least two hours,” said Shyba.
Shyba has captured adorable and heartwarming photos of the routine and posted them to her Instagram account. They quickly became a hit. Shyba plans to continue taking daily photos of their nap time ritual and the photos can be followed on Instagram @mommasgonecity or via #theoandbeau.
