More than 1,000 people attended the funeral of an Iowa born Navy SEAL who was among those killed in a helicopter attack in Afghanistan.
U.S. Navy Lt. Robert Bradshaw told Petty Officer Jon Tumilson’s parents that they raised an “outstanding man – a hero.” Military honors were provided by the U.S. Navy, and an American flag was draped on Tumilson’s casket.
Those in attendance witnessed a touching and bittersweet moment when Tumilson’s dog, Hawkeye, approached the casket and laid down beside it, taking the opportunity to guard his master one last time.
