2.9.15 - Neglected Dog in UK has life Saved and Avoids Euthanasia

Pretty Boy is a nine-year-old Japanese Chin, and after being taken off the streets, not much hope was held out for the little dog.  Now, taken in by the Gables Farm Dog’s and Cat’s home, Pretty boy has been saved from a fate that befalls too many dogs today.

When first rescued, there was a very large, uphill battle before Pretty Boy.  He was in need of neutering, has a large and painful hernia needs major dental assistance, x-rays for a front leg he cannot use, and also on his skull due to complications with a bulging eye.  That’s quite a list of maladies.

“Pretty Boy was in a poor state when he arrived at the Home. His coat was in terrible condition and he had many untreated health problems,” said Marketing and Fundraising Officer for the Gable’s Farm Katie Barkell. “It is heart-breaking to see a dog that has been so obviously neglected. Despite all he has been through he is just full of life and loves everyone he meets, he always greets you with a smile and a tail wag. He has all of the staff here wrapped around his little paw.”

It is estimated that Pretty Boy’s care will cost somewhere around $1216 USD.  Hopefully, after the money for his extensive medical treatments he’ll receive is raised, Pretty Boy can look forward to a much more pain free life.
