“That Facebook page has become a beacon of encouragement for the family,” Thomas said. “How did people used to do that? Did they write letters to come in the mail? With technology today, it’s just incredible how people have come together.”
In total, people brought with them more than $2,000 worth food and supplies, much needed for the continuation of operation for the shelter. There were also a total of 52 animals adopted out that day as well.
