Patrick’s Progress Report

Two weeks after abused and starved pit bull mix Patrick was rescued from a trash compactor at the Garden Spires apartment building in Newark, we check in on his recovery and get a closer look at the dog that has captured the hearts of a world of dog lovers.

While Patrick continues to improve and inspire, his alleged abuser, Kisha Curtis, is scheduled to be arraigned in Newark Municipal Court late this morning. Authorities say Curtis tied the 1-year-old dog to a railing of her Newark apartment building and left the state for more than a week.

  1. Thank you, thank you for the update. So glad to see the progress and yet so mind-boggled at the original abuse. I’ll never understand this sort of thing.

  2. Left for a week?! It was freezing out there!!! There need to be dog licenses, if you need a license to drive, to hunt, fish, own a gun, you should have a license to own a dog! It’s a privilege to get that unconditional love not a right, there needs to be protection up front! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  3. I would adopt him in a heartbeat. I already love him and my heart floods with emotion when I watch these videos. It is beyond my comprehension how anyone could do such a heinous thing to a living creature.

Are there potential adoptees already in place for this little guy?

  4. one step at a time heal patrick then deal with that monster of a human. chain her up to a railing and then see her cry for help. human rights people must look away if they know whats good for them.

  5. If Patrick was tied to a rail in the apartment hall, why didn’t others in the building notice this dog? I know if I were a neighbor, I’d be looking into this.
