“We want to make sure our priority is our community – and when we have space, we can open it up for little animals like this,” said Ender.
Garcia was asked if she had ever seen so many dogs up for adoption in her time running the shelter. Her response was, “Never, no.”
“We’re just excited to see the dogs leave a legacy for others that died,” said Shannon Gillette.
In total, people brought with them more than $2,000 worth food and supplies, much needed for the continuation of operation for the shelter. There were also a total of 52 animals adopted out that day as well.
