The dogs have been named Liberty and Justice, and now the Florida gals are in need of a home together.
“It became clear almost immediately that the dog was just a big friendly pup looking for his home,” the department posted.
“He literally jumped up and hugged me,” Deputy Beck said. “And that’s when he melted my heart.”
“Brooks cradled her lifeless body in his arms making his way back to shore,” JeffCo posted. “Brooks covered her in blankets and raced her to a local vet clinic.”
