“We have never had this response before,” said Sharron Carmichael. “We know that if it is not safe at your home for you, it is also not safe for your pet.”
Thankfully people had plenty of warning, and most who were able to evacuate with their pets did so before conditions put their lives in jeopardy.
The floods came fast and with little warning for many people, who weren’t allowed to get back to save their animals after evacuations began.
Forty dogs have been saved from certain doom in flooding in Texas by a father and son team.
