“We have never had this response before,” said Sharron Carmichael. “We know that if it is not safe at your home for you, it is also not safe for your pet.”
Thankfully people had plenty of warning, and most who were able to evacuate with their pets did so before conditions put their lives in jeopardy.
“Our other dog, Oscar, was a very sad lil pooch. He never leaves Edgar’s side, and was very depressed this last week without his best friend.”

Missy was missing since a powerful tornado hit Illinois, but is now back with her family thanks to an electric utility worker.
“We were so sad, so distraught for 17 months,” Miguel Cruz said. “When you’re a dog person, the dog is part of the family. It’s a family member that’s gone. So, you never give up hope.”
While they waited for animal control to arrive, Estaban turned up the heat, and another officer dropped by to give the dog some biscuits.
