Healing Species
This should be required viewing for every educator in the country. With violence, drug abuse and bullying running rampant in our school systems, nearly every district in the US could benefit from similar programs. Should you have any doubts about the effectiveness of using dogs to teach compassion and respect to our youth, see the statistics near the one minute mark.
Impressive.

That beautiful puppy thinks he is a lap puppy with lots of loving hands to pet him.

Now we know the wonder of pups and kids but what an awesome video to show us such success.

That is an impressive program! I’ve seen all the things they talked about in my own classroom when I’ve brought my dogs to school. It makes a big difference in the classroom atmosphere!
I have first hand knowledge of Healing Species. Both of my kids were fortunate enough to have them in the classroom. It is a wonderful program!!
What a fantastic program! I wish every school in the country had this program!
Blu and Tessa too
What I love most about this video: Here and there you see a kid trying to remain cool and unimpressed about the whole thing, to put up their tough-guy front – and then the dog catches his eye, and this big goofy kid-grin comes creeping across his face. I think we’re hardwired for love, even if we don’t always receive it; but when we do, we can’t help but respond.

What an awesome program! I am currently working with a dog that is about to become a therapy dog and is going to participate in the R.E.A.D. program. I think Teddy would love working with kids in schools! Will share with his mom. Thanks for bringing attention to this!
What a great program! Every school should have this.
What an excellent program, this should be in every school.
Thanks so much for sharing:)
I love this!
My two-legger read this and wants to start one here in Oakland CA.
