Forget Orange Is the New Black, because Rescue Is the New Black® – at least, that’s what Mr. Bones & Co. say! They’re a network of rescuers and foster parents who take in dogs all over the eastern seaboard, providing them with medical care and helping them find forever homes. On September 24th, they’ll be presenting Rescue the Runway, a massive, interactive fundraising and adoption event taking place in Brooklyn. Please help us spread the word!
“Our mission is to unite rescues/shelters in each community and bring them together to promote adoption, drive public awareness and generate much needed funds not only for our rescue, but for the group other groups we invite on our runway as well,” Elli Frank told Life With Dogs.
The traveling celebration began in 2013, and took place last year in Chicago, helping nonprofit rescue agencies in Illinois. This time it will take place at Berg’n Beer Hall in Brooklyn.
Puppies and adult dogs available for adoption will walk the runway, some with NYFD’s hottest firefighters. There will be raffles, a silent auction, and a pit bull kissing booth, because as everyone knows, pit bulls love nothing more than giving smooches! Tickets aren’t cheap, but all proceeds go towards animal welfare, and there will be complimentary food and an open bar.
If you can’t attend or donate, please share to at least help get the word out there about this wonderful, fun-filled event!
