Hello Life With Dogs readers!  We have a special presentation for you today for our LWD Adoptable Dog of the Day.  Her name is Gina, and this beautiful dog comes to us from the German Shepherd Rescue of the Rockies in Colorado.  This beautiful girl has been waiting over three years now for someone to come and bring her home, and we think that people are missing out on a really great dog.

Let’s let Gina introduce herself:

Hi there, my name is Gina, I am 7 years old and looking for my forever home.  I am people friendly and I love to play fetch or play with my bunny more than anything.  I also like going on walks and know how to heel with a confident handler.  I do not play well with other dogs and have a high prey drive so a home as the only fur child is required.  I need to have a 6-foot fence so I can enjoy time outside by myself chasing squirrels but hanging in the house with you is also a top favorite of mine.  I know my commands and listen very well and will learn anything for a treat.

I am looking for an owner that will love me for the wonderful girl I am, take me for walks, car rides and give me a job so I can show you how smart I am.  As most pets I would love someone that works from home, retired, or a homemaker so that I do not have to spend all day by myself.  I also would do best in a home with no young children as I sometimes forget how big I am.  I am waiting for you to come take me home so we can become best of friends and enjoy so many adventures together.

Gina was given to GSROR after years of neglect from her owner.  She was diagnosed with a yeast infection when she was 6 months old and only needed antibiotics to overcome this but the owner refused the medication.  After months of getting worse with order, scratching and chewing instead of seeking out the vet she dumped Gina in the backyard to live in pain all by herself.  When the owner’s parents found out they contacted us and we took her in.  Within months of treatment she was a happy beautiful girl and ready for a wonderful person to love.  Gina will need to be on medication and grain free food for the remainder of her life but the costs is minimum considering how much she will give you in return. We have attached her photos of before and after.
