Chanel Gets Help

Chanel, a blind dog, touched many hearts at the shelter where she ended up following a dog attack. Now she has a new, loving home and the shelter is saying thank you to those veterinarians in the community who help with cases like Chanel’s.

Chanel’s story was the subject for a recent installment of the Edmonton Humane Society’s weekly video report. The Edmonton, AB shelter is sharing Chanel’s story to highlight those veterinarians who are making a difference for the animals by helping with specialized medical cases.

Chanel had already had one eye removed when she came to the shelter, and a veterinary eye specialist advised that Chanel’s other eye be removed, as well. The little dog had lost vision in the remaining eye and it was causing her pain.

Chanel quickly recovered and was adopted into her new home by a shelter volunteer after only one day.

  1. It sounds like Armageddon BUT we are describing Romania……..

We are sat here in tears, feel sick and helpless and so angry.
Posts from Romanian friends are horrific, there is MASS murder not only by the authorities but by anyone who wants the poor strays dead. We have many friends in many areas and it is happening everywhere.
Police are outside shelters, volunteers and NGO’s can’t get in so dogs are not being fed. Private shelters are also being targeted. Poisoned, shot, bludgeoned dogs are littering the streets.
We have even seen one poor dog due to be rescued with his throat slit.
These are all kind, friendly, loving dogs, they are our friends, our companions, they didn’t asked to be born, humans are to blame for the situation they are in.
This is 2013 for goodness sake and happening in a European country, a EU member state.
Where the are the EU, EC and all the MEPS, where are other European Governments, where are the PRESS?

To all our dear friends and supporters PLEASE, PLEASE, we beg you all to contact your MEP’s, local, national media, press and let them know what is happening in Romania at this very moment.

    • I am Romanian living in USA. I will try to help. It is awful what is going on. I will start a petition at the Romanian Embassy, and try to contact some local animal agencies. Thank you for writing and make people aware.
