Chanel, a blind dog, touched many hearts at the shelter where she ended up following a dog attack. Now she has a new, loving home and the shelter is saying thank you to those veterinarians in the community who help with cases like Chanel’s.

Chanel’s story was the subject for a recent installment of the Edmonton Humane Society’s weekly video report. The Edmonton, AB shelter is sharing Chanel’s story to highlight those veterinarians who are making a difference for the animals by helping with specialized medical cases.

Chanel had already had one eye removed when she came to the shelter, and a veterinary eye specialist advised that Chanel’s other eye be removed, as well. The little dog had lost vision in the remaining eye and it was causing her pain.

Chanel quickly recovered and was adopted into her new home by a shelter volunteer after only one day.
