Melissa Sims from Monrow, La., lost her dog named Roo five years ago when the pet was taken from Sims’s Stella Street apartment. Since then, Sims has not stopped looking for her dog, and this week Sims was finally reunited with her best friend.

After five years lost, Roo comes back home.

Roo is now 11-years-old but even after all these years, the dog recognized its family and is happy to be back home where he belongs.

Sims’s daughter was searching online on the lost and found Ouachita Parish webpage when she stumbled upon a dog that resembled Roo.

“He’s got a scar across his nose,” Sims told KNOE 8 News. “When you look at him my girls always said he had eyes in the back of his head and there are still two dots on the back of his head.”

Sims drove over to Ouachita Parish, she was hoping the dog on the website will have the same markings as Roo, and indeed the pup had the scar and the dots on the back of his head. It was Roo.

After five long years the Sims family was finally reunited with the pet that had been taken from their home.
