Beagle Freedom Project Rescues Nine Dogs From Research Lab

An L.A. based rescue group has saved a group of beagles that have been locked up in a research lab since birth.

The Beagle Freedom Project contacted the lab after receiving a tip that nine beagles had spent years undergoing testing for cosmetic, household and pharmaceutical compounds. The lab had completed testing and agreed to release the animals rather than euthanize them.

Now the once neglected dogs are headed for loving, permanent homes, and if you’ve never seen a scared dog locked up for years get a taste of freedom and take its first walk ever on grass, grab a tissue and press play – just be prepared for a deeply moving experience.

The Beagle Freedom Project is on a mission to rescue beagles used in animal experimentation in research laboratories and give them a chance at life in a loving forever home. Learn more about them at their website.

  1. You were right, it did touch my heart!

I had to choke back a tear when I saw their little tails waggin happily despite all that humans have done to them. I can’t believe this still goes on in labs. Have we not become better as a society? I look for animal testing on every label so I can boycott products that use this horrible cruelty. The problem is, I think we are being lied to because if we weren’t, these little guys would never have been in that lab to begin with.

The Beagle Freedom Project is wonderful and I praise their selfless efforts to free these wonderful little dogs.

    • Now THAT is a good idea Sarah. I’m with you and all for it! There is no reason for experimenting on animals when we have perfectly good prisoners who have foregone their right to be in society

  2. “Why do ppl use these beautiful beagles for research? ”
Because people continue to purchase the products from companies that do it.
