Did you know National Mutt Day is celebrated twice a year, on July 31 and December 2? Well, you may have missed it, but anyone who has a lovable mutt, or any dog for that matter, knows that every day you have a dog in your life is cause for celebration. That’s exactly what the folks behind the movie, A Dog’s Purpose, believe, too, and have joined up with the Best Friends Animal Society for a very special project, A Dog’s Purpose Digital Film Mosaic.
Check out the site, then add your best pal’s picture to the film’s mosaic and share how your buddy makes your world all the better. You can even create your own movie poster featuring your dog’s photo. In fact, if you share your poster using #MyDogsPurpose, it could be featured in the national campaign for the movie. Even better, anyone can adopt their own best friend on the mosaic or make a donation to Best Friends Animal Society. This amazing organization is focused on stopping the killing of nearly 4 million pets in shelters all across America. Universal, in honor of the movie, is matching all donations up to $25,000.
A Dog’s Purpose, from director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The 100-Foot Journey), and based upon the bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron, is the touching and surprising story told from the dog’s unique perspective. Voiced by Josh Gad, the dog comes to understand how much he brings to the lives of the humans with whom he interacts. With Dennis Quaid, Peggy Lipton, Britt Robertson, K.J. Apa, Juilet Rylance, Luke Kirby, John Ortiz and Pooch Hall, A Dog’s Purpose will be in theater’s January 27.
