Two of Busch Gardens’ most famous attractions entertained students in an amazing demonstration of friendship at Seminole Heights Elementary School in Tampa, Florida.

Widely known for their unusual relationship, Kasi and Mtani have been best friends since they were young, teachers and zookeepers agree that their friendship is a terrific example for budding animal lovers. Students agree, and have been studying the pair in their classes this year.

“Because they studied these animals weekly they take ownership over those animals, created ambassadors, they’re going to be ambassadors for wildlife for the rest of their lives we hope,” Shelly Kalmore of Busch Gardens said.

More than 30 schools took part in a research project focused on Kasi and Mtani, but only a few lucky students from Seminole Heights and Temple Terrace Elementary School were selected to actually meet the cheetah and dog.
