A stray dog from Lima, Peru, is lucky to be alive today. The pooch wandered in a construction zone, took a wrong turn, fell off the edge of a building under construction, and landed on vertical metal bars piercing his body. Local firefighters saved the pet by cutting the bars and rushing the dog to a vet clinic.
It was Nov. 7, 2015, when firefighters were called to a construction site to save the stray who cried out in agony.
Firefighters used the “jaws of life” to carefully cut the dog out of the bars, stabilize him and transport him to a veterinary clinic. Vets then worked to save the dog’s life.
Fortunately the dog’s life was saved and the firefighters who rescued the dog are now considered true animal heroes.
