You might think Georgia Peaches Puppy Rescue is located in Georgia but you’d be wrong. It’s based in Seattle, WA, and because of the successful spay/neuter laws in the state resulting in fewer “accidental” litters, Washington has a shortage of puppies for local families to adopt. Georgia Peaches Puppy Rescue specializes in rescuing young dogs and puppies who had been scheduled for euthanasia and are from an area where there is an overpopulation of dogs. Georgia Peaches gives families another option to purchasing a puppy from a breeder.

Dozer, a boxer mix puppy, was tossed from a moving car. Someone saw it happen and immediately scooped him up and raced him to a veterinarian. Dozer’s feet were injured but he has since recovered and now that he is in Seattle, he is looking for a family.

Mia Swartz, founder of Georgia Peaches, said, “After what happened to him, he deserves nothing but the best, and we try to provide that for him.”

Desiree Gladney is the Dozer’s foster Mom. “He likes to snuggle,” she said. “He likes hugs and kisses.”

Georgia Peaches have now expanded their adoptions into Canada and Alaska where there is also a shortage of puppies for adoption.
