Hearing Set for Serial Dog Killer

According to authorities, Michigan State University osteopathic medicine student Andrew David Thompson, 24, has admitted killing 13 Italian greyhounds in less than two years.

Thompson faces 10 felony counts of animal killing in Mason’s 55th District Court and three counts of animal killing in East Lansing’s 54B District Court, charges that carry a maximum sentence of four years in prison. Thompson is being held at the Ingham County Jail on a $500,000 bond in the East Lansing case and a $100,000 bond in the Mason case: much higher than is typical in animal killing cases, but not surprising considering that Thompson has admitted to killing the dogs out of anger.

Thompson has waived his right to a preliminary hearing within 14 days. The hearing date has been set for August 4th, when the court will attempt to determine if there is enough evidence for a trial.

A second-year student at MSU’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, Thompson was suspended in  June because of the charges he faces, but he fully expects to be reinstated, his attorney said Thursday.

  1. I have an italian greyhound and this makes me so scared and angry!! Whether it’s italian greyhounds or any other animal, this man (if you can call him a man) and his kind need to be taken off the street with a vengeance!!!!!!!!!!

    • Put him down – relieve the world of another cold hearted killer, may God have no mercy on him, there is no excuse I HATE cruelty to animals its a controlling power thing, deal with him, but not leniently throw the book at him creep!

  2. I can’t believe that he thinks that he should be allowed to work in the medical field. Very scary for anyone in his care. What a monster.
