The pet owner kept calling out his dog’s name, and the dog barked desperately until rescuers were able to locate him inside the unmarked and unsecured well.

Using ropes, a hero police officer was lowered into the well and he successfully retrieved Bobby.

The pet did not suffer major injuries and was extremely happy to be reunited with his worried owner.

Neighbors have asked authorities to secure the well in order to avoid future accidents involving children and other pets.
