Remember Juice, the dog who cried in his shelter kennel after getting a taste of sweet freedom?

Well after his weepy video went viral, staffers at the Montgomery County Animal Services & Adoption Center in Derwood, Md. were inundated with applications to adopt him.

The good-natured pit was a longtime resident at the facility and in that time he’d been “adopted” once only to be returned.

“After 10 months and three days at the shelter,” read the facility’s recent celebratory Faceboook post, “dozens of tennis balls and de-fluffed stuffed animals, hundreds of meals and walks and cuddles from our staff and volunteers, thousands of shares and hundreds of thousands of video views… JUICE HAS GONE HOME!

“We cannot thank you all enough for helping us get this boy a forever home of his own. No more crying in his kennel. Tonight, he’ll be at home with his family.”

“Happy life, buddy,” they wished him, “may there be lots of tennis balls, rope toys, and cuddles in your future.”

And if you can’t, say staffers, fostering and donations really help, too.
