Heidi, a Baltimore search and rescue dog with Dogs Finding Dogs is a mix Shepherd-Labrador super hero that has been working along her best friend Anne for years. Together, the duo has saved many people but now the one that needs saving is Heidi.

The search and rescue dog has been diagnosed with liver cancer and if she doesn’t get surgery soon Anne will have to say good bye to her work partner and four-legged best friend.

The problem Anne and Dogs Finding Dogs face is the $6,000 price tag for Heidi’s operations. Right now the organization does not have the funds to cover the medical treatment, and if they don’t raise the funds soon, they’ll have to say good bye to their super hero dog.

The search and rescue team are asking for donations from the community. Together, they can help the canine beat the disease.

If you would like to help, call Dogs Finding Dogs at 410-908-6374 or email them at [email protected]. You can make an online donation at www.dogsfindingdogs.com.

Dogs Finding Dogs is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization of trained handlers and dogs that can track and find a lost pet.

  1. That was my question! I can’t even get passed the collar to read the story. Why in the world would this dog, who is suffering a horrible cancer, have a prong collar on? There is something terribly wrong here.
