Rumor has it that dogs and cats don’t get along, but a program that pairs dogs with cheetahs as part of an animal ambassador program proves otherwise.

Amara and Hopper are inseparable. The shelter dog and 3-year-old cheetah have been best friends since they day they met – when Amara was just three months old. The two are enrolled in a program started at the San Diego Zoo thirty years ago. Trainers say that the calm nature of canines help to balance the naturally reactive cheetahs, and after seeing this, we’re believers.
