Lola is convalescing with her LARGE new family today, but it was the kindness of folks at the GO RESCUE Pet Adoption Center who made this cuddly Christmas miracle possible.

The hound mix, who originate from a high-kill shelter in Mississippi, was homeless and very pregnant and her litter was due to be aborted — this is often the policy for shelters in areas where there’s little demand. But the Virginia Beach-based rescue intervened and WTKR News reported that Lola gave birth to 11 healthy puppies on Christmas Eve!

The puppies will stay with their mom for about 8 weeks and then be adopted to their forever homes. Lola will be looking for one, as well!
