Get the tissues ready. This beautiful dog was once abused and discarded, but thanks to caring individuals, Pumpkin who was once “garbage” became someone’s most valuable treasure. You won’t believe her transformation.

    • Thank GOD there are good, strong, people in Houston that stand-up and help these poor creatures. It takes a real weak, sick, low self-esteem individual to pick on and hurt anything that cannot fight back. They are cowards. To the Strong, Coward less, Good people of Houston I say, Keep up the Great work !! There is more of us then there are of them.

  3. @Mar. Why the government? Isn’t this the responsibility of each of us to create the needed changes? Take some personal responsibility.

    • Generally large social issues outside of the reasonable scope for a group of private citizens (such as 1.2 million dogs in the streets of a large metropolitan area) are delegated to government officials, who are themselves citizens employed specifically to handle these sorts of issues and have the resources and influences to exhibit societal level change. Unless you have 1.2 million friends looking for dogs, that would work too.

  6. This story is lovely. I feel sickened however that there are people who can be so insanely cruel to animals….I can’t wrap my head around it.
My great goes out to Pumpkin and Itty Bitty’s rescuers, healers and eventually family.
    Good good people.
