Authorities are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the person(s) responsible for a horrific case of animal abuse.

A large white dog is being treated for injuries by the Western Riverside County/City Animal Shelter after a pickup truck was seen dragging it through a Riverside, California neighborhood. Covered in sores and bleeding from all paws, the dog is said to be suffering tremendously, but veterinarians predict a full recovery.

The incident took place Wednesday evening at approximately 7:00 p.m. 911 dispatchers received a call from a witness who saw the dog dragged near the intersection of Claycroft and Peacock lanes. The witness saw the driver stop the truck and untie the dog before leaving it in the road.

The vehicle is described only as a red pickup truck. The dog’s age is estimated to be 10-12 months.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Western Riverside Animal Shelter at (951) 358-7387 and refer to case 11-036374.

  1. I hope that those monsters are caught and punished. I am glad to read that the dog will make a full recovery.

  2. When someone catches this gutless person, please place him behind whatever vehicle is used to transport him to jail – maybe chain him by one leg and one arm, yeah, that should do the trick.
