Well, it’s FINALLY here!  It’s Friday, and that means the weekend is upon us.  This also means that we have yet another LWD Adoptable Dog of the Day.  Today’s dog is called Thor, and he comes to us from the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter in New York.  Poor Thor has a family, but someone was allergic and it just wasn’t going to work out.  Now, he needs a new forever family, and we’re trying to help the best we can.

Let’s let the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter introduce Thor:

Thor was adopted from another Long Island shelter, and four years later he was surrendered to us due to allergies of a new family member moving in to the home.  Unfortunately, his original shelter refused to take him back, his owners refused to reconsider keeping him, so now he is here, at our shelter, homeless and in need of a new loving family.

Thor has been waiting to be adopted since February 2016. Thor is a very gorgeous, silky black and white boy, who is used to living with teens and children, but due to some issues with people near his food, we are recommending him for a home with kids 17 and up. (We are hoping that changes soon!)

Thor’s previous owners said he is house trained, and is used to living in an active and noisy home.  They said he is friendly and playful with children and strangers, but is scared of men in uniform.  Thor needs an owner who is able to spend the time working on his food guarding issues.  If you think you got what it takes, please meet Thor!  Come to the shelter or call: 3320 Beltagh Avenue, Wantagh NY 11793 — 516-785-5220
