Street dogs all over the world suffer from hunger, diseases, and neglect, but once in a while a stray’s luck changes when an animal lover falls head over heels for the dog and decides to help him or her. Well, this is the case for Menjo and Micho, two formerly street dogs from Cairo, Egypt, who are now patiently waiting to fly to Canada for their happily-ever-after.
Anubis Bastet Adoptions is the organization that is helping these two strays get to their final destination.
Micho, a light colored, medium size dog, had a home of his own, but when neighbors threatened to poison or shoot him, his owners had no other option than to give him up. The canine was surrendered to a shelter in Cairo five months ago, and since then the dog has been waiting for his new forever home where he will be loved unconditionally.
Menjo is a young, black, mixed breed dog, who was rescued from the streets of Cairo. He suffered severe mange and spent 8 weeks of his life confined to a cage while being treated. Thanks to Anubis Bastet Adoptions, Menjo is all well now and in the safety of a shelter, but he too waits for his plane ride to a forever home in Canada.
The organization has set up a YouCaring page and so far they have raised more than $600 to cover the cost to fly both pets. They still need quite a few more donations to meet their goal, but they are hopeful animal lovers across the world will come together and grant these two street dogs their wish to be loved.
