Tucker’s nickname is The Food Burglar, and for very good reason.  After swallowing a stolen Popsicle, more than just a little dog puke came back up.  A wedding ring, missing for almost five years, was soon to follow.

Tucker is a typical dog.  He enjoys catching Frisbees and rolling around in the grass, and also seems to really enjoy food.  Who doesn’t, right?  So, just like your typical dog, mischief is also one of his hobbies.

About two weeks ago, Tucker’s mom Lois Matykowski was babysitting her granddaughter.  They were hanging out, eating Popsicles and enjoying a warm, summer’s day.

“After I turn around and look at my granddaughter,” said Lois, “the Popsicle is gone and there’s Tucker, smacking his jaws.”

Another tasty score for The Food Burglar.  However, as with all things our dogs sometimes get themselves into, what went down but didn’t belong, had to come back up.  And come back up it did, “stick and all.”

Two days later, Tucker seemed to have done it again, and was coughing up something else.  When Lois looked at what it was she had just picked up, there was her wedding ring which had been missing for nearly five years.

“And I look in the paper towel and here is my wedding ring.  I kid you not.  My wedding ring was in Tucker’s puke!”

Lois searched her home, and just about everywhere she has ever been with the wedding ring on, but never with any luck.

“I was devastated.  How do you replace something like that?  Not only the value of the ring but just the emotional ties, too,” said Lois.

Despite the theft, Lois says all is forgiven.

“I’m just elated that he threw up on the carpeting and I don’t even care.”
