Today’s Adoptable Dog of the Day is Bella!

5.26.16 - Bella

Beautiful Bella is a 16 year old Lhasa Apso.  Yes, you’re reading that correctly, Bella is a 16-year-old girl who finds herself waiting in a shelter to find a loving home!  This senior girl deserves to be in a home and enjoying the rest of her life! She is currently in the Virginia Beach area and you can find out more information about her by contacting 757-385-444 ext.2; or, you can click here to be taken to their website.

Here is a bit of what Bella’s caretakers had to say about her:

“Oh Bella.  Why has it been so hard finding you a home?  For the life of us, we cannot understand why you haven’t been swooped away into the arms of someone who will adore you for the rest of your days.  Maybe a little sharing of your adorable face will help.  Bella is a 16-year-old, 10 pound Lhasa Apso that came to us when her owner passed (away).  She’s feisty, no doubt about that.  She needs to be the only dog in the home.  She’s also set in her ways.  She’s 16 and lost her person. Of course she is set in her ways!”

“Bella came to us so matted, you could hardly find the dog underneath.  We soon found out that under all that dread locked fur was a cute little old lady with lots of energy that was quite opinionated!  She has let down her guard a bit and we have learned that Bella is actually a sweetheart once you earn her trust.  She’s also a big fan of walks!  She loves them!  She’s going to need an adult home where she can be the queen of the castle, and she’s also going to need an owner than will realize she picks her people.  If she loves you, then she loves you unconditionally.  If she doesn’t love your mailman, then she will probably never love your mailman.  As long as you are OK with that, then you will have yourself an adorable little old lady that may or may not let you put bows in her hair, but will definitely let you get her a fancy leash and collar and take her out for as many walks as your heart desires!”
