The ASPCA in New York is offering up a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible for the starvation and abandonment of a three-year-old pit bull mix. The dog was found left in a dumpster behind a housing project in the Bronx, barely alive.
On Saturday is when the dog was found, starved and barely alive. Someone had put the dog in a suitcase, and dropped the dog in a dumpster. Agency officials have made public their $20,000 bounty offer, and want to see this case brought to justice.
“This dog was deprived of food and water, then discarded on a city curb as if it were garbage,” ASPCA President Matt Bershadker said in an interview.
Anyone with information on who did this despicable act is encouraged to call 1-800-577-TIPS. All callers and information will be kept confidential.
This poor dog deserves justice. Especially after treatment like this, and the fact that rescuers aren’t fully convinced this dog will survive. Come on LWD community, if you know this kind of abuse is going on anywhere, report it. It’s not right to treat a dog as if it’s life is not every bit as worth saving, loving and nurturing as a human being’s. Anyone that can help, please call.
