The Natural Dog Company is recalling all 12-ounce packages of their 12-inch “Tremenda Sticks” dog treats. Â They are recalling them due to concerns that pets and people alike could be exposed to salmonella. Â The treats are identified as being sold in ten states, possibly a few others as well.
The company is warning that dogs eating them, and humans handling them could cause quite a bit of sickness. Â Anyone having the treats are urged to get rid of them as soon as possible.
If your dog has eaten any, symptoms can include:
- Lethargy
- Diarrhea
- Fever
- Vomiting
Any animal infected with the salmonella can also pass sickness to others in the household, and can be passed to humans as well. Â Anyone suspecting salmonella poisoning should get their pets to a vet straight away.
Symptoms for humans are not at all dissimilar. Â They include Nausea and vomiting, along with fever and cramping.
The UPC number printed on the bags in question is 851265004957. Â Once again, the treats known to be affected are the 12-ounce bags of their “Tremenda Sticks” products. Â The company says there are two different styles of packaging that contain the treats, an older style package and a newer one. Â The newer packaging is apparently not affected.
