BOW WOWCamp Bow Wow, of Lacey, held its first annual luau to raise funds and awareness, and to help find homes for the countless homeless dogs.

Local rescue organizations came together in a show of unity, to be a part of the very worthy cause. Participants included Blind Dog Rescue Alliance, South Jersey Boxer Rescue, SOS Beagle Rescue, Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter and A Tail to Tell Puppy Mill Rescue.

The event included games, prizes, demonstrations, photo booths, raffles, and stalls. The event raised desperately needed money, which is to be split between all of the very worthy shelters and organizations which participated in the event.

The luau also helped to raise awareness of the plight of the homeless dogs in the area, living in over-crowded, and under-funded conditions. Information was available for those interested in becoming fosterers and rehabilitators, which are essential roles that help dogs to find their forever homes, and greatly reduces the pressure placed on shelters.

The organizers were also pushing for adopters to come forward, to help these animals find a home. Many of the dogs and puppies so desperately needing new homes were at the event, in the hopes of encouraging people to come forward and adopt.
