Cooper’s Field of Dreams

If you’re not a fan of hunting you may want to skip this, but be aware that if you do, you’ll miss the opportunity to meet one of the more amazing and inspirational dogs we’ve seen of late.

If you can get past the shooting of a few pheasants, you’ll be rewarded with watching a dog bred for sport continuing to do what he loves, and doing it well – despite his blindness. Watching Cooper forge through thickets, working closely with his owner at his side, one can’t help but be moved by the  bond they have formed.

Cooper embodies the tireless spirit and determination that we so admire in dogs, and this enthusiastic hunter obviously has no time to feel sorry for himself – he’s far too busy living it up.

  1. Personally, I don’t care for hunting. But I do love this story and the bond between this hunter and his dog. IMHO, this hunter is the exception for standing by Cooper and loving him in spite of his blindness! Hats off this this fellow and his family!!

  2. We lost our GSP Bud this past winter at the age of 16.5 years. He was an amazing hunting dog and I miss that guy with all of my heart and soul. Thank you for posting this video – it brought back some great memories.

  3. We are so very glad we watched this video – it was such a great story!!! Cooper has a lot to give and he has a wonderful human who is willing to let him give it.

  4. As I said they are amazing dog’s, but you have to know what to expect when you think about adopting or a rescue. They are highly intelligent but also very active and high strung. They are NOT good apartment dog’s!! They need lot’s of exercise as well and plenty of room. As with ANY breed of dog do your home work before bringing home a breed you just think is CUTE.

  5. As a hunter and gun dog owner (English Springer Spaniel) I just want to say what an awesome story. My complements to the wife and daughter I know mine would have said the same. Way to go Cooper, keep up the great work!!!!!!!!!!
