Ty: Buster really did it this week!
Buster: How was I supposed to know that black and white kitties make such a big stink?
Ty: Just when you started to grow on me – you go and antagonize a skunk!
Buster: Good thing DogMa had packed all the stuff and saved the de-skunking recipe in her phone.
Ty: Lickity-split she whipped up one bottle of peroxide, two tablespoons of baking soda, and a quarter cup of Dawn dish washing liquid and then …
Buster: … she scrubbed …
Ty: … and scrubbed …
Buster: … and then I rubbed the rest off on your bed.
Ty: Not cool. But at least you didn’t stink.
Buster: The moral of the story: Err on the side of caution when encountering wildlife.
My Mom couldn’t understand why I didn’t want my hounds to play with a skunk toy? BAD idea! 😉
after my dog met a porcupine in the woods, i always carry a pair of pliers in my pack
the baking soda, peroxide and dish soap works the best…i have been thru it a dozen times between dogs and cats…nothing i bought works better than this concotion!
I’ll have to remember that one. The last 2 times it happened I just used the Massengill. The dogs haven’t run off after that but we also have moved out of the country. I can’t wait to go back to living in the country…skunks, porcupines and all!
Had a few sprayings at our house
Yikes!
I live in Australia so we don’t get skunks. How bad is the smell?
