Mistaken for a killer, a northern New Mexico dog is recovering from a gunshot wound inflicted by a neighbor.
Apparently the neighbor thought ‘Akita’ (not actually an Akita) was harming the kittens she was trying to save. That neighbor cannot be reached for comment, which comes as no surprise given the circumstances.
Fortunately Akita was grazed and did not take a direct shot, and is expected to recover fully. KOBTV’s Stuart Dyson went to Arroyo Seco to meet her family and share her story.
