Pikelet and Patty Cake are two adorable pit bills mixes who, on their own, would melt your heart, but add ducklings, and it becomes almost too cute for words. Calley Gibson-Stoll, who adopted the two, was asked to foster ducklings Penguin and Popinjay by the Wollongong Animal Rescue Network . Little did she know that the two dogs would take to mothering their foster siblings quite as easily as they did.
Penguin and Popinjay went to their new home on Friday and reading through the messages on both Instagram and Facebook, it is clear that it won’t just be Patty Cakes and Pikelet that miss their little friends. What is so wonderful and amazing about this story is the simple truth that different species can care for one another and get along with no problem. Perhaps we can all take a lesson from these four.
