TUCSON, AZ – At the Humane Society of Southern Arizona, Zuleica Sanz was reunited with her beloved Siberian Husky, Nike, this week after losing him 5 years ago. Sanz had long given up hope of ever seeing Nike again, but when the dog arrived at the shelter a few days ago, a scan revealed a microchip, leading to a phone call that Sans had only dreamed of.

Nike and Sanz recognized each other instantly despite years of separation. “He looks exactly the same,” explained owner Sanz. “Just bigger.” Cheers and hugs and kisses marked the reunion, which took place very shortly after Sanz received that fateful call – the family rushed to the shelter in a matter of a few minutes. Nike will be returning to a bigger family, with a new Chihuahua and Shih Tzu to welcome him home.
