Tortured by a gang of punks and suffering from serious burns caused by acid, hot oils and even stab wounds, a dog once tormented has found love and safety in the care of a Newport News Firefighter.

Jerry Reed says that once Ringo is fully healed he intends to enroll him in obedience school and have him trained as a therapy dog. He’s hoping they can eventually visit children’s hospitals, schools, and other institutions in need of four legged therapy. Reed said he considers Ringo a miracle puppy.

  1. Thank you for kind hearts and rescues! What a wonderful way to give back to the hurting by training Ringo as a therapy dog. Healing for all!

  2. Poor puppy! I can’t believe the kids that did this haven’t been caught. I’m glad the firefighter is adopting him.

  3. People who torture animals are sociopaths and dangerous. I hope that they catch whoever did this. Sick.

I’m happy that this family is adopting this puppy. It’s nice that he had a happy ending.

  4. I am so sure Ringo will make a wonderful Therapy Dog and I am sure the children will love him too and may God Bless you for Saving Ringo’s life and giving him a loving and forever home

  5. And people tell me kids are precious and innocent. Yeah right. the animals are *always* innocent in my book. Good on this man for what he’s done. <3
