Ginger’s Happy New Life: Formerly Sad Dumped Dog is Transformed

Ginger was frightened and sad when her owner dumped her at the shelter, telling staff he wanted her put down. Shelter volunteer and rescuer Maria Christina Sanchez was on hand to document the heartbreaking scene and to make sure that Ginger would get a second chance at life and happiness.

We shared Maria’s video of Ginger being abandoned by her family on Tuesday in our post Ginger: Sad dog Dumped by her Owner is Rescued.

Maria pulled Ginger from the San Bernardino, CA City Shelter on Tuesday and the now-rescued dog is already happier as she begins her new life. Maria is caring for Ginger during her transition period.

Ginger is expected to be made available for adoption through PetConnect.Us when she is spayed and emotionally healed.  Future updates on Ginger’s progress may be seen at PetConnect.Us at Facebook.

Here are some of Maria’s new videos with Ginger (you can see the rest at her YouTube channel) .

Today, two days after rescue, Ginger is soaking up the love. She looks happy and seems like a completely different dog from the sad, scared and defeated creature who was dumped at the shelter.

As you can see, Ginger  has recently had pups. Her transformation after leaving the kennel  is utterly heartwarming.

  1. Bless you for giving love to Ginger. Her no good previous owner has no compassion in their soul. Ginger had just had her puppies then they were taken away and then she was dumped off. She still has love to give and will make some lucky person and wonderful and loving companion. Thank you for what you do.

  2. Thank you for taking her in!! I watched the video of her being dumped off and it broke my heart. I want to run over that POS with a dump truck filled with manure. I fear for her poor pups!!

  5. God Bless you for helping Ginger! She is such a living dog. I feel so bad for her knowing that she must have gone through do much pain and suffering with her previous uncaring owner. I hope you will find a good home for her.

  6. LOL!! Bless you for what you are doing…I chuckle a bit because I now have fostered three animals for adoption; two cats (brother and sister) found under some hedges a day old and Jake the dog. Well guess what?? Hedge and Pixie are now 12 years old and still here!! Jake, um, not really sure how old he is…probably about nine now. Yep, was gonna foster Jake and find him a forever home in 2008…he found his home right here!! I wish the best for Ginger and her loving forever home. Thank you for sharing her story. ♥
