Do you know an animal that has done something truly special in its life? Each year, New Jersey’s veterinarians honor four special animals with induction into the Animal Hall of Fame.

Five members were added March 6th to the hall, which is now in its 16th year and includes 83 inspiring and notable animals or organizations from around the state – including this year’s standout, Greyhound Friends of New Jersey.

  1. Greyt to see this video posted on LWD. They’re prison program is wonderful. Many of the broken leg hounds find their way to the prison for rehab too. I foster for GFNJ when I can. Dr. Wendy did the surgery on the broken hock of one of my fosters, Emma. She’s a terrific ortho vet who spent a lot of time working with me to get Emma up and walking again. Our little red haired broodie girl, Meg, a painfully shy foster girl who never left, came from GFNJ too.

  3. THank you I was able to see it. The program IS wonderful (now that I could see the whole frame). I have 3 dogs and there is nothing better than to come home to tail wags and body wiggles. Im sure these inmates get a sence of love and being needed by these dogs. I have seen this (or a similar program) in other places and it should be bigger than it is! Give these prisoners a purpose, give these dogs a new lease on life….Its a win win situation!

  4. Our boy Pauly (pictured here) was a graduate of the Second Chance at Life prison program at Coldwater Prison here in Michigan. He is a wonderful dog and I think the program is great for the dogs as well as the prisoners!!!
