firedog2An injured yellow lab was in need of help when she wandered into a Houston firehouse.  One firefighter came to her aid and using social media got her the help she needed.

When Sera wandered into Houston Fire Station #27 on Tuesday she was in obvious pain. The yellow Lab had several bad scratches and a broken leg. A firefighter named Matt picked her up and made her comfortable and started reaching out for help. He started posting her photo on social media and word got out to local rescues and animal lovers about the dog in need.

On Wednesday a volunteer with Purple Paws Rescue came and took Sera to get the veterinary help she needed. Sera had to undergo surgery on her leg, including having a pin placed in it. Now Sera is looking for a foster to take care of her while she heals from surgery.

For more information on fostering Sera contact K-9 Angels Rescue.
