A friendly but injured female Pit Bull living in an industrial neighborhood in California, was so sick she could hardly stand up on her own. Someone, concerned about her safety and health built her a makeshift home and fed her, however, the dog needed to get off the streets and soon. Eldad Hagar and Hope for Paws came to her rescue.

The dog was named Penelope. She was skinny, infested with fleas and had an infected cut on her thigh, but after getting rescued, given a bath, receiving medical attention and nutritional food, the dog transformed into a playful and active pup. She is now looking for a new home.

Watch her rescue and transformation below.
